French Wine Anyone?

I’ve never been a wine drinker. So, why are we talking about wine?

I recently came across a study that shows you are more likely to purchase French wine if the store played French music while you were shopping. The study also shows that this was true for Italian wine as well.

What does this mean? Well, first it means store owners need to pick the right music for their shops. Below I’ll share some ideas on how to pick the correct music for your store, so read on.

As with many marketing initiatives audio branding starts with knowing your customers.

  1. Know who you are Targeting
  2. 20 somethings will want to listen to different music then the retired folks. Sorry, no lady gaga for grandpa.

  3. Select the Right Tempo
  4. Do you want people to stay in your store for a long period or is it important in your customer’s mind to get in and get out. Learn more about music and tempo

  5. Culture Counts
  6. In order to create an authentic in-store experience it is important for you to pick music reflects the vibe of our brand. If you are an authentic Japanese restaurant then choose music from that area. This will help strengthen the bond between your customers and your brand.

This is a lot to think about, but at least now when you set up your play list you have a place to start.

What are you playing in your store? Leave a comment for me.
